A man tried to set himself on fire at a National Insurance Institute branch in Kfar Saba on Tuesday, but was prevented from doing so by a police officer, Israel Radio reported.

The man, a resident of Rishon Lezion, poured a flammable liquid on himself before being stopped by the officer.

Earlier Tuesday, a Palestinian man in Hebron tried self-immolating at municipality building, but was stopped from doing so by security personnel in the area, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported. Khaled Abu Rabee, 42, reportedly doused himself with gasoline in an attempt to call attention to his financial troubles.
