One day after it was published that Daniel Maoz was arrested in connection to the murder of his two parents in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem last month, Maoz's sister said she could not support him.

"Yesterday we were dumbfounded to learn that three days before his arrest, Daniel Maoz chose to be interviewed and say things in our name," Tamar Maoz said in a message posted on Facebook Thursday. "This was despite an explicit and joint decision by the family that we would not be interviewed."

"In the span of the last week," she added, "we had to weigh the question of supporting Daniel, who turned from one of our siblings to a suspect in the murder of our parents."

In light of the developments in the investigation and in light of the evidence presented in court during Daniel's remand hearing, she said, "We decided that the support that we had given him in his defense will end immediately."
