Meridor turns down offer to replace Dekel as envoy on Schalit talks

Intelligence Minister Dan Meridor on Saturday turned down Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's offer that he serve as Israel's special envoy in talks to bring about the release of captive IDF soldier Gilad Schalit. Netanyahu is expected to decide who to appoint to the job, which until recently was held by Ofer Dekel, in the coming days.
