A Minsk official said that the bombing in a metro station Monday that killed at least 12 was "caused by a foreign element aiming to destabilize the internal situation," Pan-Arab news channel Al Arabiya reported Wednesday.

Belarus has detained the first suspects in the investigation in the attack, the state prosecutor's office said on Wednesday, Reuters reported.
