Kadima leader Shaul Mofaz reacted to the apparent defections from his party overnight Sunday, saying it would set his party on a better path and slamming Netanyahu for "political bribery."
"Kadima is starting on a new path without the weight of political opportunism," Mofaz said.
"Today Netanyahu's government has been assassinated. The public sees the images, hears the voices and understands that these are the last days of Pompeii, days of political bribery the world has not yet known."
