Mother dies of tragic complications after cesarean

A 34-year-old mother of three died Tuesday at Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon as a result of complications after having a scheduled cesarean section to deliver her fourth child.

The baby boy was born healthy. The woman had had three previous cesarean sections to deliver her other children. The complication was a pulmonary embolism due to embryonic fluid.

When all her bodily systems suddenly collapsed, the medical staff tried to resuscitate her, but they failed. The Health Ministry was informed, and the hospital expressed its great sorrow over her death.
