New York City Police were investigating the spray-painting of six swastikas in a predominantly Orthodox Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn on Friday, including on one synagogue. Local politicians were quick to condemn the Nazi symbols.
"There is no place for acts of hate in New York City," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said in a statement.
A hate crimes task force was investigating the vandalism, local media reported.
