WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama told Republicans during debt talks on Wednesday that "enough's enough," urging them to halt political posturing while the two sides seek a deal to increase the debt ceiling.

Democratic officials familiar with the talks described the exchange to reporters.

The officials said all sides backed some $1.5 trillion in spending cuts to reduce the deficit.
