Peres receives honorary degree from Levinsky College

President Shimon Peres on Sunday received an honorary degree for his contribution to education from the Levinsky College.

On accepting his degree, Peres commented: "Equality in higher education is not only a social necessity, but essential to Israel's very existence."

He continued: "We are a small country with next to no natural resources, and thus human capital through education will determine the future economic status of Israel."

He wished the students at Levinsky College success in the upcoming acacdemic year, telling them they bring "honour to the State of Israel."
