"A progress was reached during [US Secretary of State John] Kerry's visit that we must not dismiss," President Shimon Peres said on Sunday, urging the State of Israel to do "all it can so [Kerry's] mission succeeds."

"The Palestinians and us have no other choice but peace, in a two-state solution," the president added. "Any other option would be choosing blood, violence and hatred, and we have enough of those in the Middle East," he added.

"It is impossible to have peace in one state that has two peoples, when each nation is different from the other," he said, stressing time was running out to finding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
