Education Minister Shai Piron announced on Monday the appointment of Michal Cohen as the new director-general of the ministry, succeeding the current director-general, Dalit Stauber, who recently gave notice of her resignation.

Cohen, who will officially take office on November 1, has served as the ministry's deputy director and head of its pedagogical department for the past few years.

Piron expressed his appreciation for Cohen and said she “has successfully lead and implemented widespread educational processes and reforms, which weight significantly in the education system.”

“Her accumulated experience alongside her management skills will help and contribute in advancing reforms and some of the greatest challenges facing the education system in the coming years.”
