Police and protesters clash in Algiers

Pro-Egypt protests in Algiers have turned violent as police and demonstrators clashed in the city's center. Police have reportedly begun to arrest protesters, who are fighting back.

Thousands of policemen have been deployed in the Algerian capital in response to the demonstrations.
