Police investigators said Thursday evening that they have found a potential suspect in the forgery of the "Galant document," yet the suspect cannot be brought in for investigation since he is not currently in Israel, Channel 10 News reported.

The suspect may have had connections to high-ranked officials in the IDF, police estimate, and will be brought in for investigation in the next coming days.

Authorities say the motives of the suspect are still unknown and that several attempts were made in the process of forging the document prior to its release.

According to Israel Radio, police also have reported that they have a lead to who leaked the forged document to Channel 2 News.

It is still unknown whether the suspect was acting alone.
