Israeli Police informed the public on Sunday that closed-circuit security cameras have been installed in 12 schools across the country as part of an Education Ministry pilot project.

The cameras will be directly connected to police command centers to enable fast response to criminal acts.

The initiators of the project hope to see whether the camera system will lower the level of violence at schools.
