Over one hundred Moroccans began to protest Sunday to demand that King Mohammed hand some of his powers to a newly elected government and make the justice system more independent, Reuters reported.

Moroccan authorities over the weekend ignored the plans for the protests, despite a wave of popular uprisings that have swept other Arab nations and unseated dictators in Egypt and Tunisia.
