The fire which destroyed the branch of the IKEA store in Netanya earlier this month was caused by an electrical short which occurred when rainwater came in contact with the building's electrical system.

The determination made by the Sharon district Police commander put an end to the investigation into possible arson or negligence as a cause of the blaze.

The Fire Service was still investigating the failure of the store's fire detection system.
