American tourist William Hershkovitz, who killed one at a deadly shooting incident in Eilat last month, shot himself and was not taken down by police, according to the investigation of Israel Police in the southern district, Channel 10 reported on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old New York man, who was working at the Eilat Leonardo Club Hotel kitchen as part of an Oranim exchange program, shot a fellow employee after an argument broke out between the two of them.

It was previously reported Hershkovitz was killed by the Counterterrorism Unit after barricading himself in the kitchen.
