Report: Meidan to arrive in Cairo for Schalit talks

Newly-appointed government coordinator of efforts to free Gilad Schalit, David Meidan will arrive in Cairo in the coming days for meetings with Egyptian leaders as well as the German mediator to discuss the prisoner exchange deal between Israel and Hamas to free the kidnapped soldier, Palestinian newspaper al-Manar reported on Saturday.

According to the report, Egypt has intensified its efforts, in coordination with the German mediator, to complete the prisoner exchange deal and their was great optimism that an agreement could be reached by mid-June next year.
