Shas spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef's health has taken a turn for the worse, Army Radio reported Monday evening.
Yosef, who has been hospitalized in Jerusalem's Hadassah Ein Kerem, has been experiencing deteriorating health issue since the Rosh Hashana holiday.
According to the report, Yosef has been placed on a respirator and the medical staff is determining what steps to take moving forward.
"At the moment, there is a debate going on to determine the next step in the Rabbi's treatment, and a decision has not yet been reached," the hospital said in a statement.
Shas leaders, as well as top rabbis, have asked the public to pray for Yosef.
