A 15-year-old boy remained in serious condition in hospital on Sunday after being shot and injured by thieves while looking after his father's kiosk in Ramle.

Dep.-Cmdr. Shlomi Sagi, head of the Ramle police, said shots were fired at the boy after "a robbery went wrong," when he stood up to two suspects and refused to hand over cash as demanded.

The suspects ended up leaving the store with nothing after shooting the youth.
