Rouhani urges Muslim countries to help Palestinians, end blockade in Gaza

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani urged heads of Muslim states on Friday to help the Palestinian people and lift the siege on Gaza, according to the Fars News Agency.

"Unity of Muslim countries against the enemies is vital at this juncture," President Rouhani said in letters to Muslim leaders. He warned that the Gaza blockade and shortage of medical aid could lead lead to human catastrophe, according to the report, adding that helping "the oppressed people of Palestine and preventing the Zionist regime from committing its atrocities are the common responsibility of all international organizations and freedom-loving countries."



He also noted Palestinian resistance groups and said they would ultimately defeat the Zionist regime.
