Noam Schalit answered questions on Friday about the rumor that the Israeli government accepted a German mediated prisoner exchange deal that Hamas later rejected.

Schalit said that in the five years since his son Gilad was kidnapped, the Israeli government has put no pressure on Hamas to release him. This includes the Netanyahu government, he points out. Therefore, Hamas has no reason to hurry to do business with the Israeli government to release his son, Schalit said.
