Israel will not continue the building freeze in the West Bank temporarily, even for the release of convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard,  deputy prime minister Silvan Shalom stated on Monday.

Shalom rejected earlier reports that the Netanyahu government was considering complying with the White House's request to extend the freeze, by halting building for an additional three months, in exchange for Washington's release of convicted spy Jonathan Pollard.
