The Student Union has appealed to the West Bank Council for Higher Education to postpone the meeting on the decision to recognize Ariel University Center as Israel's eighth university. The meeting was due to be held on Tuesday.

Representatives of the students claim that they were not given the right to vote in the discussion.

Itzik Shmuli, Chairman of the Israel's National Student Union, threatened to boycott the West Bank Council if the meeting went ahead, Army Radio reported.
