Syria: Assad regime will not attend peace talks to hand over power

Syria's information minister on Monday said the Damascus regime will not participate in a proposed peace talks in Geneva regarding the country's civil war if the objective is to hand over power from President Bashar Assad.

"We are not going to Geneva to hand power as [Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud] al-Fassyal wishes," state news agency SANA quoted Omran al-Zoubi as saying.
