Social protest leader Daphne Leef was arrested by police on Friday while trying to prevent them from removing tents that she and other protesters were setting up in Tel Aviv, in echoes of last summer's mass protests.
As police began taking down the tents that social protesters had set up at the site of last summer's Rothschild Tent City, Leef and other protesters attempted to stop the them.
The police claim that the protesters interference got violent, including Leef and two others hitting police. In response, the police arrested her and the two others, and brought them to a police van to be taken away from the scene.
