Traffic police probing hit and run involving settler and four Palestinians

Traffic police are investigating a hit-and-run accident in the West Bank on Tuesday night, in which an Israeli settler hit and lightly wounded four Palestinian pedestrians.
On Tuesday night, police said they had received a call from an Israeli man saying he hit a group of Palestinians near Nebe Ilyas in the West Bank. Police said the man told them he did not stop to give assistance because he feared for his safety if he got out of the car. He told them that he continued to drive until he reached a safer location and then called the head of security on the settlement of Karnei Shomron.
On Wednesday morning, police said that the driver and another man who were in the car with him were held in police custody overnight and released pending further investigation by the National Traffic Police.
