Tunisia election chief: Vote turnout to exceed 70 percent

TUNIS - Turnout in Tunisia's first ever democratic election, being held on Sunday, was nearly 70 percent with three hours left until polling stations close, the head of the independent organization overseeing the election said.

"The average is approaching 70 percent," Kamel Jandoubi said at a media conference.
