Turkey will soon recall its ambassador from Washington, Agence France Presse reported Thursday.

The decision comes following a US House of Representatives panel vote which branded the World War I massacres of Armenians a genocide, a Turkish diplomat was quoted by AFP as saying.

"A decision has been made in principle for his return," the diplomat told AFP on condition of anonymity.
