A Lebanese and Palestinian were killed, and six injured, in clashes with Lebanese security forces in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, Arabic-language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Friday.

The two were reportedly part of a protests against Lebanese authorities' destruction of illegally constructed buildings in southern Lebanon.

The event is not the first of its kind, and Lebanese authorities have acted regularly against illegal construction that runs rampant in southern Lebanon and southern Beirut suburbs, Al-Hayat said.
