Ulpana residents agree to voluntarily leave homes

Residents of the Ulpana outpost on the outskirts of the Beit El settlement agreed late Tuesday to voluntarily leave their homes, thereby avoiding a forced evacuation.

The homes are slated for demolition by the end of the month, in line with a High Court of Justice ruling, which said that the structures were built on private Palestinian land.

The agreement came after the Prime Minister's Office pledged to build 300 new homes in Beit El and change its policy on the removal of settler homes on private Palestinian property.
