The Minister of Welfare and Social Services Isaac Herzog has approved an emergency budget of NIS150,000 to help welfare services in the areas affected by the fire to help them provide assistance and support to those in need in communities, it was announced Friday just hours after the minister toured the area and met with residents forced out of their homes.

Over the last 24 hours, professionals and experts from the ministry have opened a situation room in order to coordinate the needs of evacuees.  The coordinated effort will also mobilize social workers from other districts in order to assist the local welfare departments and help relatives to identify the victims at the Institute for Legal Medicine at Abu Kabir.

In the past hour, the ministry worked to transfer 23 people with severe mental disabilities from Usfiya to a safe location.
