After the latest recall of more than 32,000 Toyotas in Israel, Union Motors, the official importer of the Japanese automaker in Israel, on Tuesday announced an additional recall of 1,335 Prius cars because of problems with the antilock brake system.

Only Prius vehicles produced since May 2009 and all 2010 Lexus HS 250h vehicles are being recalled.

Union Motors said it had not received complaints from local Prius owners.

It said it has received all the relevant data from the Japanese manufacturer to start the repairs and update the software of the antilock brake system. The repair should take no more 40 minutes and can be done at all Toyota dealerships, the importer said.

A list of all the models and chassis numbers of the cars affected is being compiled, and letters will be sent to the owners in the coming days, Union Motors said.
