First quarter growth surpasses expectations; 6.6%

The Israeli economy grew by a rate of 6.6 percent during the first quarter of the year, passing prior expectations, and outgrowing the 2005 first-quarter growth rate of 5.2%, according to a Central Bureau of Statistics report released Monday.
