Job vacancies in the business sector surged 23.9 percent to 68,200 in October from 55,000 in September, led by demand in the business-services and hospitality and food sectors, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported Monday.

“The figures for October in comparison with September do not take into account the impact of seasonal parameters and the effect of the High Holy Days” the report said. “However, compared with the same month last year, the number of job vacancies in October this year was 52.5% higher.”
