An IDF soldier posted a photograph of what appears to be a Palestinian boy in the sites of a sniper's rifle on his Instagram page causing an uproar over the weekend on the Internet.
The photograph was posted by IDF soldier Mor Ostrovski on his Instagram profile in late January and removed Saturday.
The photo, apparently shot in an Arab village in the West Bank was first publicized on the Electronic Intifada website.
Palestinian blogger Ali Abunimah, founder of Electronic Intifada, described the photo as "simply tasteless and dehumanizing. It embodies the idea that Palestinian children are targets."
The IDF stated that the incident was being investigated.
According to the Guardian, Ostrovski told the IDF that he did not take the picture, but found it and posted it on his Instagram account, which he has since shut down.
