'Times of India' reports Pardo visited India days before Delhi terror attack, thought Israelis in India were safe.

Mossad chief Tamir Pardo visited India last week, discussing with Delhi Police the threat of revenge strikes against Israelis, but not anticipating that such a strike would occur in India, The Times of India reported Thursday.The visit of "a high level team" came just days before an Israeli diplomat's wife was injured when a terrorist on a motorcycle attached a magnetic bomb to her vehicle. Israel has blamed Iran and its proxy Hezbollah for carrying out the attack, a charge Tehran has denied. Additional botched terror attacks occurred on the same day in Tblisi, Georgia and the following day in Bangkok.According to TheTimes of India report, Pardo felt that Israelis in India were safer from possible revenge attacks than their counterparts in Turkey, southeast Asia and South America.The attacks came a day after the fourth anniversary of the assassination of Hezbollah’s military commander, Imad Mughniyeh.Iran and Hezbollah have tried a number of times in recent years to avenge Mughniyeh’s assassination.Israel raised its level of alert in early January surrounding delegations overseas out of concern that Iran and Hezbollah are trying to launch an attack ahead of the fourth anniversary of the assassination Mughniyeh.Last month, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz warned Hezbollah on Tuesday not to test Israel's resolve by perpetrating a terror attack against an Israeli target overseas."We are witnessing efforts by Hezbollah and other hostile elements to perpetrate a brutal terror attack far from Israel," Gantz said at the time."I recommend to everyone not to test our resolve."
