Shots fired at IDF jeep near Egyptian border

No injuries, damages reported; shooting reported not far from where terrorists infiltrated border along Sinai peninsula; IDF on high alert.

Shots were fired late Sunday night at an IDF jeep traveling near Eilat along the border with Egypt. Military sources said that the shots were fired from inside Sinai.
No injuries or damages were reported.

The shooting took place near the Netafim crossing, the site of the infiltration by Palestinian and Egyptian terrorists into Israel on August 18 in which eight Israelis were killed.
The IDF has been on high alert along the Egyptian border since the attacks and has significantly beefed up forces and surveillance equipment there.
