Pardon for Golani soldiers jailed for provocative T-shirts
Soldiers wore T-shirts bearing anti-disengagement slogan to an official IDF ceremony; were pardoned after expressing remorse for actions.

Five soldiers from the 13th Golani brigade who were sent to prison last week for wearing provocative T-shirts at an official ceremony have been pardoned.The soldiers arrived at the ceremony in uniform and at the completion of the event removed their overshirts to reveal the T-shirts, which said "Golani fights enemies, [it] doesn't expel Jews."RELATED:Gazans who lost jobs in disengagement not owed severanceMK Katz: God punishing Bar-Lev for disengagement Northern Command Chief Major-General Gadi Eizenkot said the soldiers were pardoned after expressing remorse and taking responsibility for their actions.On Sunday, Peace Now sent a letter to Defense Minister Ehud Barak calling for the defense minister to pardon the soldiers.The letter said, "There are many in the Right who believe that the IDF belongs to them, and are trying to turn its soldiers into supporters of the Right," Army Radio reported. Peace Now added that according to the soldiers, right-wing organizers instructed them to be photographed with the shirts, saying they were surely donated by radicals.
