Turkey: Thousands protest Gaza offensive

Thousands of pro-Islamic Turks gathered on Sunday to protest Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip, a day after the Turkish foreign minister called the offensive in response to the abduction of IDF soldier Gilad Shalit "horrifying." Thousands of angry protesters began gathering on Istanbul's Caglayan square, where banners read: "Don't remain a spectator to oppression." Hundreds of demonstrators also traveled to Istanbul from other cities for the mass rally.
