Islamic Jihad says it is behind rocket attack on South

Rocket alerts activated; residents of Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council asked to temporarily remain in homes; no injuries, damage reported.

The Islamic Jihad terrorist organization said it fired four projectiles at southern Israel from the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

Two Kassam rockets slammed into a field and a parking lot in a kibbutz in the Sha'ar Hanegev regional council at around 11 a.m. A vehicle was damaged in that attack.

Two more rockets were fired at the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council three hours later, shortly after 2 p.m.

No injuries or damages were reported in that attack.

The color red rocket alert system was activated during both waves of rocket attacks.

Residents of the area were asked to temporarily remain in their homes.
