Palestinian killed after trying to steal weapon from IDF soldier near Jordan crossing

The man was crossing into the West Bank from Jordan when the incident occurred. Soldiers nearby reacted to his attempt to steal the soldier's rifle and shot him dead.

A Palestinian man was killed on Monday after he reportedly tried to seize the weapon of an IDF soldier near the Allenby terminal crossing between Israel and Jordan, according to Israel Radio.
The man was crossing into the West Bank from Jordan when the incident occurred. Soldiers nearby reacted to his attempt to steal the soldier's rifle and shot him dead.
As a result of the incident, the Allenby terminal has been closed until further notice.
Palestinian sources said that the deceased has been identified as Raed ala a-din Nafa Zaiter, a 38-year-old resident of Nablus.
