PM is most popular Israeli politician on Facebook

Netanyahu's personal page on the social network passes 200,000 fans, ahead of Yair Lapid, Tzipi Livni, Shelly Yacimovich.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's Facebook page passed the 200,000-fan mark on Monday, maintaining his status as the most popular Israeli politician on the social network.
Netanyahu had 200,158 fans on his personal Facebook timeline at press time. The prime minister opened the page, which is separate from the Prime Minister's Office page, in January 2010, and gains hundreds of new "likes" each day.
The most popular post on the prime minister's timeline was in a photo from his father Bentzion Netanyahu's 102nd birthday celebration in March. The photo received 6,713 likes, 1,241 comments and was shared 332 times.

Netanyahu is by far the most "liked" politician, with television personality turned aspiring politician Yair Lapid taking second place with 53,162 fans. Next is former opposition and Kadima leader Tzipi Livni with 25,681 fans. Her successor, Shaul Mofaz, is far behind with only 3,969 fans. Fourth and fifth place go to Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich with 20,388 "likes" and Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman with 12,682.
