Her Excellency Gao Yanping, the Chinese Ambassador to Israel, met with KKL-JNF World Chairman Efi Stenzler at the Chinese Embassy in Tel Aviv, on Thursday, July 4.
Emphasizing the historically close ties which link his country with Israel, Prince Albert II of Monaco planted an olive tree sapling in friendly and intimate ceremony at the Grove of Nations in the Jerusalem Forest just behind the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial.
“I believe that by cooperating on environmental matters we can solve political conflicts in the region,” said European Parliament member Dr. Antonyia Parvanova of Bulgaria in the course of her visit to Israel.
KKL-JNF shares its knowledge and experience all over the world, and is committed to addressing key global issues through mutual networking, knowledge sharing and spreading environmental advances beyond Israel's borders.
Many participants attended the side event of KKL-JNF at the 10th UN Forum on Forests in Instanbul, including the Vice Minister of the Water and Afforestation Ministry in Turkey, Ismail Balan, who noted the importance of regional cooperation in the area of combating desertification.
“Planting a tree is creating life,” said the Italian Ambassador to Israel at the pomegranate tree planting ceremony in his home, which was attended by KKL-JNF senior personnel.
