The KKL-JNF delegation at the LESDREVMASH Forestry and Tree Technology Exhibition, which took place October 22 – 26, 2012, in Moscow, included Yigal Yassinov, Director of the Russian Desk; Shmuel Shprinzin, Southern Region Forest Engineer; Pinhas Kahana, Director of the Planning Department in the Land Development Authority; Aviram Zuk, Eastern Galilee and Golan Northern Region Director; and Milca Trestman, Marketing and Image Designer for the Resources Development Division.
KKL-JNF participated in the show and at the conference, in order to to share its professional expertise in the field of forestry and fire prevention in Israel, to make professional contacts with the Russian forestry authorities and academics, and to learn about technological innovations in the field of afforestation and tree output. KKL-JNF also presented its varied fields of activity for the benefit of people and the environment to exhibition participants from Russia and from many other countries.
KKL-JNF also had a pavilion at the exhibition, which was visited by many visitors who displayed a great interest in KKL-JNF and in forestry in Israel. The visitors watched a video presenting KKL-JNF's many and diverse projects and were interested in written and digital information material in English and in Russian. Among the visitors to the KKL-JNF pavilion were academics from research institutes and universities involved in all aspects of forestry, who expressed enthusiasm about data sharing and student exchanges with Israel.
During the exhibition, the KKL-JNF delegation met with the two deputies of the Federal Forestry Department of Russia—Mr. Alexander Penefilov and Mr. Andrei Jilin, both of whom were very impressed by the work done by KKL-JNF. After the meeting, they announced their intention to make a recommendation to the director of the Russian Federal Forestry System (a Federal Government Minister) for initiating constant professional contacts with KKL-JNF.
