Over 500 people were in the audience, and the atmosphere was very emotional. Rita sang her classic repertoire at this special concert, concluding with a moving rendition of a piece from the opera "Carmen".

The audience filled the entire hall at Solanas, where the event took place. Among those present were the Israeli ambassador to Uruguay, Mr. Dori Goren; the vice-president of El Al, Mr. Izy Cohen; the president of the Central Jewish Committee of Uruguay, Mr. Marcos Israel; the president of AIMA, Mr. Guillermo Borger; the president of Ort Argentina, Mr. Hector Rosenzvit; and the heads of Jewish organizations in Argentina and Uruguay.

The famous Argentinean television host Mr. Sergio Gorzy opened the evening with a brief review of KKL-JNF history and the organization's activities on behalf of man and the environment, emphasizing the tragedy of the recent Carmel forest fire. In the course of the evening, a video clip describing KKL-JNF's battle against the fire and rehabilitation efforts was shown, followed by a call to all those present to help restore the color green to the Carmel forests.

The president of KKL-JNF Uruguay, Ms. Nadin Hakas, and the president of KKL-JNF Argentina, Mr. Adolfo Filarent, expressed their heartfelt thanks to all those present for their support of KKL-JNF. The president of AIMA, Guillermo Borger, presented the two presidents with certificates of appreciation to KKL-JNF for its extensive activities.

After the honored guests had completed their speeches, the lights went off and the stage was Rita's, with her magnificent voice and electrifying presence. The audience gave this unique artist a standing ovation in appreciation of her art and warmth. In response, Rita went down from the stage to the audience and sang together with the crowd, making them part of the concert.

The concert was a festive and uplifting way of launching events connected to KKL-JNF's 110th anniversary in Latin America. The concert created a bond between the audience and KKL-JNF by means of Israeli culture and by the end of the evening, everyone present was looking forward to future KKL-JNF events in this beautiful city.
