A group of directors and marketers from KKL-JNF offices in Europe were standing on the edge of the manmade lake in Yeruham Park in the Negev. Nick, from Germany, is one of the younger members in the group that arrived in Israel for a whirlwind week of tours to KKL-JNF projects and professional briefings with senior KKL-JNF personnel. “Of the whole spectrum of KKL-JNF activities," said Nick, "especially close to my heart are the various ecological projects. For me, working for the benefit of the environment is a very positive thing to do from a global perspective.”
During the three days of touring Israel from south to north, many experiences of success stories achieved by KKL-JNF with the assistance of its friends worldwide awaited the members of the mission. In conversations with the participants of the fact finding tour, it appeared that the task of interesting friends of KKL-JNF and of Israel in adopting projects in Israel for the benefit of people and the environment is not at all easy these days. The financial crisis in Europe, as well as the systematic and intensive propaganda of anti-Israel elements, present new challenges that must be dealt with.
