Knesset nixes proposal to extend Israeli law over West Bank

A proposed law that would extend Israeli sovereign law over the West Bank, a move that would effectively annex the settlements, was voted down by the Knesset on Wednesday. The proposed legislation was introduced by MK Ya'akov Katz (National Union).
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was among the 49 Members of Knesset who voted against the proposed law. Only four MKs voted in favor of the legislation.
Following the vote, MK Yoel Hasson told Netanyahu he should thank Kadima. "We saved you from another political complication."
