Morsi spokesman: Controversial decree will not be modified

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi's controversial decree which vastly expands his powers will not be subject to modification, Egypt's Al-Ahram, citing presidential spokesman Yasser Ali, reported late Monday night.
The decree, issued by Morsi last Thursday, was met with outrage by Egypt’s political opposition and sparked widespread protests that have left at least three dead and hundreds more injured.
The decree states that presidential decisions will enjoy temporary immunity from legal challenges and protects from dissolution Egypt's Islamist-led Constituent Assembly, tasked with drafting a new constitution.
Ali's statement was issued following Morsi’s meeting with senior judicial figures.
