Egyptian Al Nour party denies contact with Israel

The Egyptian Salafist Al-Nour party denied having any contact with Israeli officials in Cairo, adding that it would not engage directly with the Jewish state, Egyptian daily Al Ahram reported Monday.

According to party spokesperson Yusra Hammad, Al Nour has rejected any "unilateral contact with Israel away from official Egyptian channels."

Hammad said Al Nour welcomed dialogue with any political group "inside or outside Egypt, but only through the [Egyptian] Foreign Ministry," according to Al Ahram.
